Listen oh children of Compuhigh, and it shall be told to you, the Chronicle of the Elders who came before. For in that time they were many, and they did build a noble city on a hill upon which much was said and done.
In times long past there were the Eldest, Jay Who Would Be God, and Raine Who Babbles With Children among others whose names grow hazy with history. In time, they ascended to power and respect among the Younger, who did grow fruitful, and multiplied. With his spatula of power and his wisdom of net coding, Jay did rule over the Younger, and they were happy.
There was Luke the Long Haired, of the Gosh people of the hills, and the woman Mel, bard of poems and songs who would one day become companion to Luke. There was Wolfgirl the ferocious priestess who did battle with frying pans, and Cloe of the Rose, who did become obsessed with way too many cute males of the city. There was Acacia, the spider woman of the forests. There was Justin, master of the art of dance and theater. There was Tiffy of the Far Islands, a mermaid princess from lands of pineapple and waves. There was Wolf_255, a great warrior who smote the foes of the city with harsh language and descriptive cyber-weaponry. There was Leah, raiser of horses, who would one day find the favor of Jay the Eldest. These Elders did thus stand against the forces of madness and confusion, who took the form of Nate the Ever Stoned One, and Ghosty, Lord of Kewl, and from the rafters of the heavens there sat Pretender, who confused his enemy with his rapid typing and poor command of syntax. There were many battles between Ghosty the Blinded One and Jay, the slayer of evil rubber chickens.
But there came a Third Generation, and of this progeny there came fresh blood into the city, who also submitted to the wise rule of Jay, the wearer of strange clothing who died his hair. There was Sari, who did frolic like a duck, and Slates, the moderate one who sat astride a steel horse. There was Kalrahg, whose colorful hair and dark clothing caused others to worry for him, and many more whose names have become scattered in the sands of time.
This great city of Compuhigh grew and flourished under the watchful eye of Pat, Bob, Connie, and Stan, the great ones whose voices boomed down from the skies. The city became great, and it became known for it's learned ways and wise citizens. And though there were obstacles in the path of the Elders, they overcame them as was the way of things.
But time finds all things in it's way, and not even the Great City could escape it's grasp. Stan, the master of the code, looked down on the city and saw the Elders grow old and decrepit with age. With his staff of power he created a new land for the Elders in their age to go forth into, and cast them out into it so that the waves of the youthful could build their own city and in their own way, grow.
Now the Great City has been largely forgotten, it's armies of spoon warriors broken, the hordes of evil rubber chickens slain for naught, their SNAFU armor pierced and rusty. The ruins of the palaces of the elders grow thick with vines and weeds, and the Youngest remember not the names of their Forebears, They Who Came Before. Now only Starlie, messenger of the elders, remembers the names of They Who Came Before, and so it from these words that Wolf_255, venerable Taoist warrior and tank commander, passes on the words of the ancients so that the Young may remember and know.
To know that the New City can be great and vast as well, that they too have the strength to build a nation and forge it from dust into greatness, a song so beautiful that minstrels will sing it for a thousand years, that all will remember with tears in their eyes and know that their years did not come and go in vain. Go forth, oh Young Ones Who Are Now, and build your city with pride. For your hopes and dreams shall be the brick and mortar, and your spirits the strong arms which bear aloft the walls.
(Starlie, you should take this to the Compuhighers so they'll have something if they wish to remember. Go forth, like Moses bearing the Ten Commandments! And to my fellow Elders, I now I'm forgetting many of you, but you must forgive me, an old man like me doesn't remember the old days like he used to. I must find Luke and ask him about the old chronicles which he wrote.)
